RWE AG completed its $6.8 billion acquisition of Con Edison's clean energy businesses in March 2023. The deal, which involves the acquisition of Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses, added 3 GW of operating solar and wind projects and a 7 GW development pipeline, making RWE the fourth-largest renewable energy company in the U.S.
Octopus Energy Group completed the acquisition of Shell Energy Retail in the UK and Germany from Impello Ltd., a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd. The company will migrate 1.3 million home energy customers to its systems in the UK and Germany.
Sonnedix completed the acquisition of a 22.3MW portfolio of solar PV plants from Spanish IPP Solarig. The portfolio is comprised of 18 ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plants, all of them in operations since 2010/2011 and under the Italian Conto Energia feed-in tariff system. All plants are located in Italy.
Ormat Technologies acquired geothermal and solar assets from Enel Green Power North America for $271 million in January 2024. The portfolio includes assets in Nevada, Utah, Connecticut, and California.
